Placeholders
Placeholders can be used in a template to be replaced in the Placeholder Replacement Dialog, when the template gets instantiated. There are several different types of placeholders to customize your template.
Standard Placeholders
When using the Page Tree Creator, any placeholder from the source page tree/template is displayed in the replacement form and will be replaced with the user input. A placeholder can be added by just typing $$placeholder$$.

Default Placeholders
Default Placeholders can be inserted like normal placeholders, but get replaced automatically since the value is already fixed, they do not appear in the replacement dialog. To check what options are available for the default placeholders, check out the Documentation.
With this button, all placeholders will be replaced automatically. Just click it and enjoy.

Cascaded Placeholders
Cascaded Placeholders are a feature that allows users to create templates from templates. This means that users can create a template with a placeholder that, when instantiated, creates another template with a placeholder. This process can continue, creating multiple levels of templates.

Placeholder Configuration Macro
The Placeholder Configuration Macro allows the author of a template to set a placeholder format, if it is required, description and dropdown options automatically to a Placeholder. When doing so, the configurations for the respective Placeholder in the Placeholder Replacement Dialog is set to that configuration automatically.
The various placeholder configuration types are:
Standard
Date
Link
Multiline
Dropdown (single choice as well as multiple choices)
Regex
User
Counter

Ignore Placeholder Macro
The Ignore Placeholder Macro allows you to retain placeholders when copying a template. To achieve that, you just have to insert the placeholder inside the body of the Ignore Placeholder Macro. This is used to exclude accidental placeholders which could be included in links for example.
This is a placeholder outside of the Ignore Placeholder Macro: $$placeholder$$
The Placeholder outside the macro will be replaced. The one inside will be ignored.
